What is swelling & inflammation?
When our body is injured, no matter what the injury is, where it is in the body or whether it is bone, muscle, tendon etc. the body will go into sequences/phases for recovery.
1. Inflammation
2. Repair
3. Remodeling
Each of these phases must be completed for the next to begin.
Inflammation is non-negotiable and healing cannot happen without it.
Swelling is the bodies way of protecting the injured area with inflammation, think of it as creating space for the healing fluids.
The problem is we loooooooove to stop inflammation and swelling before it has a chance to do what it needs to do... NSAIDS, Ice, Rest etc. we have an extreme aversion to anything pain related and want it to stop as soon as it starts.
To be completely honest this is a recipe for disaster! By doing this we are opening ourselves up to potentially developing chronic pain or further injury to the area.
Look, pain is necessary, it tells us when something is wrong and that we need to deal with it. NOT numb it, NOT pretend it isn't there, NOT compensate for it yadda yadda, but to deal with it and fix it before it becomes a problem later on or somewhere further in our body.
Rant over... For now 😉
So, what can we do if we end up with chronic pain or an injury that isn't healing? We can restart the inflammation process over again and flush it out properly.
Once this is done the repair and remodeling phases can then be completed and you can get back to doing whatever it is you would like to do pain free.
Sounds good doesn't it?
The absolute best option to accomplish this is a Rapid-NFR treatment. Check out my previous post on this stellar treatment or book and see for yourself 😀
